March Madness!

I love March Madness. We are deep into the NCAA Basketball tournament now. David and my Dad (and probably most other people) had their brackets busted up the first couple of days. But the two of them are still cheering on their favorite team--Kentucky--who else!

Last weekend was my absolute favorite part. That's when games are going on all over the place, and the underdogs have the best chance to win a game. This year it was better than ever because there were a lot of upsets. By the second weekend, those underdogs are gone, in a lot of cases. My favorite moments so far--the squirt for University of Northern Iowa who saved their bacon with his three pointers; Kansas getting beat (our bandmate is from Kansas--he was not happy), and seeing three generations of Bruce Pearl's family at one of the Tennessee games.

I went to school with a guy who is on the outs with the NCAA--Kelvin Sampson. Too bad--I was starting to see him on television, coaching Oklahoma and Indiana--and next thing I know, he was banned. He's with the pro's now, assistant coaching the Milwaukee Bucks.

But back to the tournament--even my Mom has her favorite teams. They typically aren't my Dad's favorites. For example, she really likes Tennessee! Traitor.

Anyway, we're having some fun with this. Band practice this week started late due to the Butler game. That's the way it is during March Madness.

My Poor, Neglected Blog

This poor blog. After posting to it a lot last year, I have totally neglected it this year. I am going to resolve to do better. I'll do a post sometime this week. Surely I can manage one once a quarter!
